Question by Randy H: How can Twitter benefit a trade publication?
I work for a Chicago-based trade magazine that is aimed at food and beverage retailers. Our company is looking to set up all of its publications with several different social networking sites. One of them is Twitter. While I understand how Twitter works, I have yet to see a good example of a publication that benefits from it. Could someone explain the benefits Twitter would provide to a trade magazine?

Like you, I’m baffled by this. Twitter is used to communicate short messages in real time, I can’t imagine how it could be used to benefit a trade pub.

The article, below, says a couple of interesting things, mainly: thinking of Twitter as a daily magazine – it’s the 2nd paragraph, I believe.

In my haste to open a twitter account I thought up a really dumb user name and went with it. Now I’m more serious about using twitter. How do I close out my existing account and open a new one. I can’t use the same email address on two accounts.

To deactivate your account:

Log in to Twitter
Click Settings
Click ‘deactivate my account’ at the bottom of the page
Verify that you really want to do it and voila, it’s done.

To see a screenshot and other info regarding cancelling your account, see the Twitter Support page below. Also note it states that it could take up to 30 days for your account to be fully removed so you may want to consider creating a new email address and start from scratch.

Right now I don’t have any friends and don’t talk to anyone. Most people at my university think I’m weird. I also don’t have any hobbies.

if you want too, you can add me as a friend. You don’t need to start at your university to build a social network…

It would also help if you did not have everything set to private…. I am assuming that is how you relate to others. You have to open up yourself in order to make friends and build the social network. No one wants a fake friend or someone who they cannot relate to. If I cannot relate to you then why should I bother to be your friend.

You have to “Twitter sync to your my-space” On ur myspace go to Account Settings oR my account and where it says ” Privacy password nd all of that ull c Sync go to that nd click on “get Sync” and the rest should be easy cuzz all u have to do then is put in ur twitter display name and password…. Personally, I think Twitter is more simpler to use. I used to hate status updates on MySpace and when Facebook started using them, I felt like I was learning too much info on people’s lives. I felt like a stalker. lol I started to get used to it though, and reading status updates are usually quite entertaining, I usually look at them more than any other thing on FB, but I just deleted my accounts on all of the sites, because I think I can do better things with my time. FB used to be so addicting, lol. But, I think it’s healthy also to keep yourself off those sites and develop face to face communications, more personal ways of communication- and less self disclosure. I mean social networking isnt all that bad, but I really don’t want to reveal so much of myself to people anymore, I’m learning alot about these things…

I’m trying to put my Ning social network inside a frame(for multiple reasons), but Ning keeps complaining and opens up in a new window. Is there any way to get rid of that and keep it in my frame without the complaining? And yes, I have searched Google(and Bing).

What type of code are you putting in the frame?
If theres much to do with java it will generally want its own window.

If you have Yahoo Mail and supports disposable email creation, much better. You can create a disposable email and use that disposable email to register another account in twitter. You can still receive email through your original email but that another twitter account is associated with the disposable email address inside your original email address.
